heart condition sufferer JaxonYorkshire housebuilder Harron Homes has donated more than £500 to Heart Research UK in support of one of its customers, four-year-old Jaxon Green-Moore.

Jaxon, who suffers from LEOPARD  Syndrome, is about to move into a brand new Harron home along with his family at the company’s Burwood Heights development in Queensbury near Bradford.

The family has been watching their four-bedroom Aldingham style house being built over the past six months and as the property nears completion, Jaxon was invited to site to take a special tour.

Jaxon’s condition affects the skin, face and heart and leaves him at risk of sudden death and unable to take part in sporting activities.
He is one of only 200 people in the entire world diagnosed with the genetic disease, which means that there is little specialist knowledge available and no support groups for parents to exchange information.  The expectation is that the risk of problems will increase as Jaxon reaches adolescence, but his parents, Heidi Green and Robert Moore hope that their fundraising activities will contribute towards finding a cure by then.

Heidi has recently taken part in Heart Research UK’s Swim the Channel challenge along with her 69 year old mother Pat Bingham. They covered 1770 lengths each of a local swimming pool over 10 weeks to complete the 22 mile challenge.

On hearing about the family’s efforts, Katie Charlesworth, Sales Director at Harron Homes offered to donate the £500 whilst staff working at Burwood Heights clubbed together to raise an additional £55.

Heidi Green said, “It’s been great for Jaxon and his brother and sisters to be able to see their very own house under construction.  We’re keen to make as many special memories as possible for him just in case the worst should happen.  Harron’s donation was a real surprise and we are thrilled that they’ve been able to help in this way.”

Katie Charlesworth, Sales Director for Harron Homes said, “We are delighted to help with the family’s fundraising efforts and look forward to welcoming them into their new home in the summer.”

Rachel Brooke from Heart Research UK concluded, “This is an incredible donation on behalf of a wonderful family.  Many people think that heart conditions are suffered only by older people.  Jaxon’s story highlights that it can actually affect anyone at any age.”

The Green-Moore family are moving from their current home in Queensbury to the brand new Harron one at Burwood Heights which is located off Hill End Lane, using Harron’s popular part-exchange scheme.  Jaxon will be joined in the new house by brother Zachariah, (5) and sisters Tegan, (8) and Tailla, (6) as well as half-sister Courtney, (16).

Burwood Heights is now all sold however Harron has a hand-picked selection of luxury four bedroom family homes for sale at nearby Queensbury Gardens on Brighouse Road.
