After five years of waiting and several lockdown setbacks, local mum Leanne Hallam has finally secured her dream home at our Brierley Heath development in Skegby. Dubbed “The Windsor Queen” for her love of the Windsor home style, Leanne and her family join a community already home to many of their family and friends.
Leanne, 37, a student neonatal nurse, and her husband Rob first set eyes on the Windsor more than five years ago. Drawn to its stately exterior, with an elegant arched window she immediately fell in love with, she became desperate to own one herself, quickly earning the nickname “the Windsor Queen” among family and friends. But a redundancy during COVID meant the move had to be put on hold.
“When the chance came around again, I knew it was now or never,” said Leanne. “Anne in the Harron Homes sales office remembered me and let me know as soon as a Windsor became available. She kept me updated every step of the way, even texting me photos and videos as the build progressed.”
For Leanne, support from our on-site team made the move even more special. “The site managers were fantastic and they really looked after us. Harron’s customer service has been brilliant from start to finish,” Leanne added. In fact, she even prepared bacon cobs for the site team to give them a little boost during the workday.

The couple moved in with their two kids, Maisie and Jesse, and Rob’s son Corey visits often. For Leanne, the Windsor represents more than just extra space for her and Rob’s children; it’s the family’s forever home. “We loved our old house, but it wasn’t big enough as the kids grew up. This is everything we wanted, space, layout, and the community around it.”
In fact, Brierley Heath is something of a readymade community for Leanne and her family. “Skegby was already home,” Leanne said. “The kids went to the local schools already, so the move has made our morning journeys more convenient. We knew several of the families at Brierley Heath already through school. My best friends were already here, as were my daughter Maisie’s godparents, so it we felt like we belonged there before we even picked up the keys.”
“It’s a wonderful family-friendly vibe. Jesse’s out playing football on the green every night, and no doubt when the playground area is finished the kids will be making the most of that,” added Rob. “The whole area is so green and safe and welcoming. It’s exactly where we’re meant to be.”
