We have recently sponsored the 8th Old Goats Grumble festival in Denby, Derbyshire, close to our Shipley Lakeside development.

Hosted by the League of Zeal motorcycle club, the beer and music festival took place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with the proceeds of £36,500 going towards registered charity, Lauren’s Legacy.

Lauren’s Legacy was established in memory of Lauren Elliot, the inspiration behind the Old Goats Grumble festival and an attendee for many years. Lauren sadly passed away due to cancer in June 2019 and the festival is held each year to commemorate the work she did and the joy she brought.

This year the festival provided entertainment for every age, from inflatables for the kids to a variety of local and international bands including Jester, DC Done Dirt Cheap, and Molly’s Lips, and of course a selection of beers and ciders from the best brewers and producers the UK has to offer.

Through events such as the Old Goats Grumble festival, Lauren’s Legacy is able to fulfil the wishes of teenagers and young adults going through cancer treatment. These can include a family holiday, concert tickets to see their favourite band, or tickets for a big sporting event.

Kurt Elliott, President of the League of Zeal motorcycle club and one of the organisers of the Old Goats Grumble, said “It was great to see so many people turn out in support of the festival and Lauren’s Legacy. We couldn’t host events of this scale or raise this much money without support of local businesses, so we’re incredibly grateful for Harron Homes’ continued contribution to Old Goats Grumble.”

Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director for Harron Homes North Midlands, added: “We were delighted to sponsor the Old Goats Grumble festival for the second time. I was glad to see several Harron team members attended to support Lauren’s Legacy and they had a fantastic weekend. We look forward to seeing what 2023 brings for Old Goats Grumble!”
Just a short drive from our Shipley Lakeside development, which boasts a selection of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes set in a beautiful lakeside setting, the festival is already gearing up for 2023.
