Our staff members recently brought a touch of Christmas magic to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, our Charity of the Year. The team headed to the charity’s head office in in North Anston to help create festive props for the hospice’s Christmas celebration.

The festive event, held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, brought together children and families supported by Bluebell Wood for a day full of festive food, live entertainment, bouncy castle fun, face-paint stations, superhero visits, and much more. Our team spent time in the week leading up to the event wrapping gift boxes, crafting handmade snowmen decorations, and preparing the party room to help make the celebration feel extra Christmassy.

A wide range of local individuals and organisations helped create the magical atmosphere, including performers from Magical Moments, The Voice Academy, Phoenix Squad, and a Taylor Swift tribute act.

Based in North Anston, Bluebell Wood provides specialist care, respite and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Working both at the hospice and in family homes across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, and parts of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, the charity helps families find comfort and joy in the moments that matter most.

Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said: “It’s always a privilege to support Bluebell Wood and to see first-hand the incredible work they do for families. Our team really enjoyed getting involved and adding a little festive sparkle to the hospice ahead of their Christmas celebrations.”

Ellie Brumley, Regional Fundraiser for Barnsley & North Sheffield at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, added: “We’re so grateful to Harron Homes for their continued support. The decorations and gifts they prepared helped make our Christmas party even more magical for the children and families who joined us.”

Harron Homes North Midlands selected Bluebell Wood as its Charity of the Year earlier this year and has since taken part in a range of fundraising and volunteering activities to help raise vital funds for the hospice.
