Luxury housebuilder Harron Homes North Midlands is installing a number of features at its upcoming Laughton Gate development to support and nurture local wildlife.
SGB 675 – Bat boxes installed in Harron homes
Situated in the town of Throapham near Rotherham, the brand-new development will comprise of three-, four- and five-bedroom properties perfect for family living.
The development will include hedgehog highways to allow hedgehogs to travel safely through the development’s gardens and other green areas. There will also be a number of bird and bat boxes situated throughout the development which will encourage the animals to nest. The lighting used on the site will also consist of LED lighting, which reduces light ‘leakage’, creating a more friendly environment for bats.
Also included in the development will be plenty of green spaces for residents, including a woodland area and children’s play area. The site will also retain the hedges and trees currently situated on its boundary lines. The site also has a planting scheme, which will see the inclusion of plants, trees and shrubs within the development.
In line with the planning application of the site, Harron will also be providing a contribution towards the Throapham Orchard to improve the space as a public amenity and habitat for local wildlife.
Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands said: “We are very pleased that our upcoming Laughton Gate development will incorporate so many ecological features that we hope will nurture and enhance the wildlife within and close to the development.”
