Harron Homes recently supported local cancer charity BB with love by attending its annual musical show held at Sheffield City Hall.

Mick Croke, who has worked with Harron over 10 years with his plastering company, MJ&B Plastering Ltd, set up BB with love with his family after he lost his wife Beverley to breast cancer in March 2021.

The show, ‘Simply the Best’ featured a number of celebrity guests including Fashion expert TV presenter, Gok Wan, and West End performer and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Three Ella Vaday, who came together to raise money to support those living with and those affected by cancer and to bring hope during these difficult times in family’s lives.

Harron Homes has supported Mick in his fundraising efforts over the past 18 months, most recently funding two VIP tables at the show as well as sponsoring the programme, which all contributed to the charity’s goal of raising £100,000 in two years.

The funds will be donated to the Weston Park Cancer Charity wellbeing centre in Sheffield that needs extra investment to maintain the help it can offer to cancer patients and the families who are left behind.

With a total of £35,000 raised last year, BB with love set a target this year to reach £50,000. Before the event had concluded an impressive £60,000 had already been raised. The total amount raised this year amounted to £62,204.46.

Mick Croke, said “We created this show to provide families with some hope and positivity. We really wanted to get the message out that coping with cancer is difficult but you can get through and we are here for those who need support. Any donation is amazing and we’ve been blown away by Harron’s generosity. We are incredibly grateful for everything Harron has done to support us.”

Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said: “Our team who attended ‘Simply the Best’ had a brilliant evening and it’s fantastic to see BB with love flourish in this wonderful show for such an important cause. Our hearts, here at Harron, go out to all families coping with the realities of cancer.”
