Children from a primary school in Doncaster have been enjoying careers talks with a difference, with pupils’ parents sharing their experiences of the world of work as part of a series of ‘Inspiration Assemblies’.

Tickhill Estfeld Primary School has been welcoming mums and dads into school to talk about what they do for a living with the aim of inspiring the pupils to think about their own career ambitions.

Parent, Robert Clubbe, our North Midlands Marketing Coordinator, visited recently to explain what his job in property marketing entails. Harron is currently building a range of family homes at nearby Simpson Park in Harworth.

The assembly was delivered to about 200 children in Key Stages 1 and 2. Rob, whose two children are in years two and six, spoke about how he got into his role, what’s involved in his day to day and the different pathways that led to his current position. The children then participated in a Q&A session and got the chance to try on some hi-vis jackets.

Harron is a proud supporter of local communities and we enjoy getting involved with the schools close to our developments and arranging events including recent storytelling sessions to celebrate Share a Story Month in May.

Just four miles from Simpson Park, Tickhill Estfeld Primary School provides a quality education to local children having achieved the Artsmark Gold Award, Healthy Schools and Active Mark Award.

With easy access to Doncaster via the A1, as well as Rotherham, Worksop and Sheffield, the development is ideally placed for commuters.

Amanda Painter, Head Teacher at Tickhill Estfeld Primary School, said: “It was wonderful to have Mr Clubbe with us to take the assembly.  This is one of a series of assemblies to help the children to see which careers may be available to them in an ever-changing modern world. The pupils learnt a lot and we now have several budding marketing co-ordinators – it was great to see them looking so smart in the hi-vis jackets.”

Robert Clubbe, Marketing Coordinator at Harron Homes North Midlands, said: “We enjoy being able to assist the local community in a variety of ways, so it was great to be asked to take this assembly at my children’s school to share with the pupils what I do and what Harron Homes and housebuilding is all about.”

Harron is building a selection of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes at Simpson Park at Harworth, DN11 8AD. While the marketing suite is under construction, the sales team can be found just a minute away at Harworth Colliery FC on Scrooby Road.  For more information visit: https://www.harronhomes.com/find-a-home/nottinghamshire/simpson-park/.
