Faye Goddard, Design Sales Manager at Designer Contracts, shares how they created a luxurious finish in the two showhomes designed for different lifestyles.
“Harron is a traditional builder with contemporary designs and we try to bring both elements out in our styling of the showhomes. The houses are luxurious in themselves with many having special touches like en-suites and dressing rooms so we build on that, with the bedrooms especially designed to have that expensive hotel feel.
“The three bedroom Somerton is perfect for new families and first time buyers. With that younger audience in mind we kept the tones fresh and bright with crisp whites and soft silver greys.
“The larger four bedroom Windsor tends to be more suitable for older buyers looking to up-size, so we opted for a more mature colour palette, using darker grey and black piece of furniture and shades throughout the house to create a richer and deeper tone.”
Statement walls are a great way of making an impression without going overboard, and there are plenty of different ways to create one depending on your taste.
“In the Somerton, mirrors surrounding the lounge have the great effect of making the space seem bigger and brighter while providing a focal point. We took the opposite approach in the Windsor lounge with panelled walls to add depth to the room.”
Faye reveals that dimensions are key to get that high-end feel.
“Furniture which perfectly fits the room really ties the space together. We achieved this in the showhomes with the headboards in the Windsor bedrooms. Bespoke made, they add a special touch to an already luxurious room.”
