Last Friday (30th September) we once again supported Macmillan in its quest to create the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Colleagues at our Barlborough and Morley offices brought their best cakes to work and competed in a bake-off. The site team at The Grange in Shireoaks also joined in the fun, selling cake and coffees on the day. Together we raised a total of £1008.50, enough to pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for a week, helping patients, family members and carers manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer, as well as a Macmillan grant that helps a family affected by cancer take a holiday and enjoy precious time together.

Nearly all (98%) of Macmillan’s funding comes directly from donations so all contributions make a massive difference to the charity.

Alison Taylor-Shaw, Sales and Marketing Director for Harron Homes Yorkshire said “Macmillan is a wonderful charity that works incredibly hard to take care of people with and affected by cancer and it’s an pleasure to support them.”

Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director for Harron Homes North Midlands added, “We were delighted that our developments decided to participate this year. It looked like they enjoyed some fabulous sweet treats!”
