crofton crossing patrols

Harron Homes is proud to be supporting Crofton Junior School in their efforts to fund school crossing patrols.

The iconic Lollipop men and women provide a fantastic service helping children cross safely and teaching them to be more aware of the dangers of the road. In recent years, government cuts have meant that schools now have to pay for this service themselves.

Parents of Crofton Junior’s students set up the Friends of Crofton Junior School PFA to help the school fund salaries for the much-needed crossing patrol. They have been organising various fundraising events such as school discos and afternoon tea parties. Not only do these events raise money and awareness, they also bring the community together in a fun and enjoyable way.

When local housebuilder, Harron Homes, heard about the fundraising efforts, they were keen to step in and offer their support. Community is something that Harron Homes is very passionate about. They build beautiful residential properties and actively try to create a strong sense of community on all of their developments. Royal Wells Park is their Crofton development and provides homes for many local families.

Harron Homes made a generous donation of £500 towards the crossing patrol at the infant school and got involved with the most recent fundraising event, a community Afternoon Tea Party.  The party was held in the school hall and the school choir sang whilst tea, coffee and cakes were served by the students.

The event was a huge hit with parents, teachers and the children as well as the other members of the community that came to show their support.

“It was a successful event and helped to raise money towards the fund,” said Julie Pile of the Friends of Crofton Junior School PFA.

Harron Homes were extremely proud to be part of the school’s efforts. Their Royal Wells Park development is within walking distance of the school so the crossing patrols directly benefit their residents.

As part of their ongoing commitment to the community, Harron Homes often get involved in local initiatives, especially where children and families benefit. As well as showing support for the school, Harron Homes also recently sponsored new kit for Crofton Junior AFC.
